Photographing a 3 week old baby

I want you to feel relaxed when you arrive at Mabel & Møøse studio to have your baby’s 1st portraits taken. Knowing what to expect is vital to making both parents feel really comfortable. I want you to enjoy this amazing experience.

My photo sessions are 100% baby-led…. which means that your little one is in charge. You are free to cuddle, feed, and be near your baby whenever you want to. I use a soft beanbag for your baby to lie on. It’s covered with a soft, organic freshly-washed, cotton blanket. Little ones just love to relax into it as it makes them feel safe and secure. You’ll both be there right beside your baby, drinking in every little movement that they make.

My studio is warm so babies with a tummy full of milk nod off easily letting me create some beautiful portraits of your sleeping baby. I am an expert baby-swaddler and your baby will look cute as a button in a white buritto-wrap.

You will both be there to hold their miniature hands and your heart will melt as they curl their fingers around yours. It’s lovely if a baby is awake for their session, in fact, it's great. Perfect little eyes just staring to focus are a memory that you don’t want to lose.

Often I will ask you to cradle them in your arms as I capture special moments between the three of you. Imagine how important those portraits will be to your little baby when they aren’t quite so little. I wish with all my heart that I could remember what my baby's toes and fingers looked like. I have forgotten how the crown of their head looked and for this reason, I take photos of your baby little details. Their teeny weeny fingers, toes, and lips……so as you will never forget. And squishy baby rolls, who doesn't love them!

A 3-week old baby is actually very different from a 3-day old baby. They are definitely more awake and not as curled up as they were at birth.

How many photographs will be taken at your baby photo shoot?

You can expect to choose from 15-30 beautiful unique portraits which are available to purchase either individually or as part of a print or wall art collection.
